Babylon Bar Vol.III, the latest double CD compilation album release of Lola's World Records label features 34 songs culled out by DJ Gulbahar Kultur from a musical climate where the East and the West flirt to create top notch songs. Composed of two CDs called 1001 Feelings and 1001 Mirrors, Babylon Bar Vol.III is a heavenly travel with excellent music through 1001 feelings of the heart and 1001 reflections of the truth.

1001 Feelings, the first CD opens with the sublimely beautiful title Rain from Stephan Micus, the musician and composer whose transcultural music vision develops fresh musical possibilities with traditional instruments and musical techniques, many of which are unknown in the Western world. The second track is an amazing interpretation of Erik Satie's Gnosienne No.1, inspired by the charming city of Istanbul: La Flor de Estambul by Javier Rubial, the Spanish musician and songwriter highly considered for his vocal talents and for blending different music styles of Flamenco, Jazz and Maghreb. Mich Gerber, the man who changed the role of double-bass moving it from its place at the back of the stage to up front playing it as a lead instrument while forming a solo acoustic 'bass orchestra' with a sense of fusion that excels over the bridges of classical music, avant-garde experiences and the contemporary, takes part in the album with his title Siren's Call arranged by DJ Arkin Allen aka Mercan Dede, the famous fusion-maker of traditional acoustic Turkish and other oriental styles with electronic sounds. Blindnote, constituting of six Belgian based musicians who take their audience on a musical trip with unique sounds of traditional instruments and inspiring rich vocals that are stripped of visual stimuli enchant with the hauntingly beautiful sounds of "the duduk", an ancient woodwind instrument, in the title Chiraki Par. Nancy Ajram, the multi-platinum Lebanese singer and Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF of many chart-topping titles plays her part in Babylon Bar Vol.III with an impressive, sentimental song: Enta Eih.

Cibelle, the Brazilian singer and songwriter celebrated for her angelic singing, is the first performer of 1001 Mirrors, the second CD of Babylon Bar Vol. III; in an ultimately neat fashion, she sings Tom Waits' tender song Green Grass for the album. Kari Bremnes, the moving voice and great musician from Norway caresses the souls with her title Birds while Marina Celeste, the lead singer of the famous French collective Nouvelle Vague, goes cheeky in Accroc aux Bimbos with her idyllic voice coming from a far-away dreamland. Fatoumata Diawara, the Malian musician particularly noted for her distinct sensuous voice sings a soothing, truly beautiful love song: Kanou. Many more surprises follow with artists like Sussan Deyhim, the Iranian artist standing at the forefront of experimental music internationally for more than two decades; musician and tabla player Talvin Singh known for creating an innovative fusion of Indian classical music and drum'n'bass, and Marc Almond who will make you smile with his nostalgic, enigmatic song.

In Babylon Bar Vol.III DJ Gulbahar Kultur discovers new names from Turkey like Cigdem Erken, Mabel Matiz and Bilal Karaman, all three of which are promising musicians of remarkable talent. Two tracks come with lyrics written by Gulbahar Kultur, the compiler DJ herself: Elde Var 0 performed by Tansiyon Sequenz from Germany @ 1001 Feelings and Tricolor performed by Alexandro Fernandez Lecce from Argentina @ 1001 Mirrors.

The album is a symbol of a universal dream-come-true: perfect harmony full of inspiration between the peoples of the world.

Spread over 3CDs and taking in tracks and remixes from Loco Dice, Rachel Row, Steve Bug, Nick Curly, Guti, FCL, Kings of Tomorrow and David August, this is another essential collection from the world's preeminent house music label.

Both literally and metaphorically, Ibiza represents Defected's time in the sun. As the eyes of the dance music world collectively focus on a single, tiny island in the Mediterranean, DJs, producers and record labels alike all set out their musical stalls in an effort to provide the thousands of clubbers the best possible experience. It's an environment in which Defected consistently thrives.

This year Defected has once again stepped up their game with residencies at two brand new White Isle venues. Defected In The House will bring a heavyweight line-up to Bomba Ibiza for Saturday nights, while Defected presents DFTD introduces a new concept to Ushuaia Tower with a free party on Mondays.

Consistently the strongest offering of the year, Defected's Ibiza edition of their acclaimed In The House series typically defines the season, representing a true reflection of the musical direction of the White Isle. On the new mix, Defected founder Simon Dunmore has selected records that represent both the house heritage for which Defected is rightly known and respected, as well as further developing their reputation for introducing and nurturing exciting new talent.

"We are still a soul based record label although the soundbed for the songs we release changes as the House sound evolves" says Dunmore of his approach to this new undertaking. "There has been a reaction by some people to move away from the commercial dance scene and I think we have benefitted from that."

Tracks of particular note that feature on the mix include the hotly anticipated Flashmob remix of FCL 'It's You' - arguably the most talked-about record of recent memory - as well as the sublime 'Follow The Step' from emerging artist Rachel Row.

Elsewhere you'll find the Gorge remix of David Keno 'A Compliment', Trickski 'Wilderness' (Genius of Time Remix) and Guti's 'Pray For Love' (Guti Summer Loving Mix), all of which epitomise Dunmore's eclectic approach to the compilation's selections.

"I think that it is clichéd to call the album a journey" says Dunmore of the mix "but the vibes certainly progresses from a daytime beach party and sunset vibe into a more club based mix. There are many exclusives from the Defected schedule and our new DFTD imprint. All the recordings are special and contribute to a mix of which I am particularly proud."

Defected In The House Ibiza 2013 is the first release to boast new artwork as part of a complete brand overhaul of the label. Conceptualised by world-renowned designer, DJ and producer Trevor Jackson, the rebrand includes a new logo, artwork direction and website, further details of which will be released over the coming weeks.

Although Sigur Rós' press release teased a brand new European tour in the subject line, we were all in for a big surprise in the body—It released the details of a brand new studio album, titled Kveikur. The album is the first without founding member Kjartan Sveinsson, and is set for a June 18 release on XL Recordings.

Sigur Rós is also set to perform on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon next Monday to perform a new Kveikur cut, when they'll also perform at Madison Square Garden later on.

After the band's last album, Valtari, which saw Sigur Rós taking a more ambient, electronic approach, the press release states this album pushes forward in a more direct, aggressive fashion.

The Toronto-based trio of James Teej, Voytek Korab and Jared Simms have been working under the 'My Favorite Robot' moniker for a few years now, releasing music on like-minded house labels such as Crosstown Rebels and Visionquest. They also christened their own imprint of the same name back in 2008.

Crossing Wires follows releases from the likes of Tom Demac and Jori Hulkkonen on their label, and features 15 new and exclusive tracks from the Robots themselves as well as the likes of Fairmont, Timo Maas, Alan Fitzpatrick, Inxec & Droog and plenty of others.

With the official release of their fifth studio album "The Coming Storm", the Freestylers announce their return to the forefront of the industry. After the boys dropped the single of the album's title track, it was clear that they had more up their sleeve. Now the original grandmasters of breakbeat are back with a vengeance, bringing the world their brand new 13-track, packed to the brim artist album titled "The Coming Storm", featuring collaborations with Synikall, Stereo:Type, Wizard, Sirreal, Laura Steel, Irwin Sparks, Fast Eddie and many others.

After a 15-year career the Freestylers have covered a full 360 degrees in the bass music genre, having played all the biggest festivals and most talked about nightclubs around the world, even the quintessentially British music show, Top of The Pops.

With their first four artist albums "We Rock Hard", "Pressure Point", "Raw as F**k" and "Adventures in Freestyle" notched tightly to their belt, the duo was voted Best Band by Music Magazine, toured with Lenny Kravitz on his American Woman tour, rocked a crowd of 30,000 at Glastonbury Festival 1999, performed at MTV's Times Square Millenium Party and played Big Day Out 2005 - it is clear that these guys have had one big adventure so far.

Queens Of The Stone Age has confirmed June 3 as the release date for its sixth studio album ‘… Like Clockwork’ on Matador Records.

'…Like Clockwork' is made up of 10 tracks and was produced by Joshua Homme and the band at Pink Duck in Burbank, California. It was recorded by Mark Rankin with additional engineering by Justin Smith.

The album contains a list of guest stars, including Arctic Monkeys frontman Alex Turner, Dave Grohl, Elton John, Nine Inch Nails' Trent Reznor, and Jake Shears of Scissor Sisters.

e Slam planted the flag for techno in Glasgow at the start of the '90s, the Scottish city's musical destiny was changed forever. Fostering many a great talent with their Soma imprint, Lars Sandberg - aka Funk D'Void, aka Francois Dubois - remains one of the brightest that they have uncovered. Breaking through on the legendary duo's label in 1995, he forged a sound that combined techno beats and percussion with soaring melodies and chords to scintillating effect. Continuing to impress with his own Outpost Recordings, this new double mix CD for the acclaimed Balance series sees this enduring talent follow on from his previous compilations for Cocoon and Soma.

"My inspiration for Balance 22 stems from listening to the 'Back To Mine' compilation series of the previous decade" he reveals. "A particular memory was imprinted on me from a long car journey back from the beach with friends when we listened to one of the releases without speaking for two hours, completely lost in the whole magic of the day together." In keeping with the timeless nature of that series and other inspiring mix CDs, he was keen both to clearly mark his own stamp on the compilation and to avoid disposability and transience in its content. "I didn't want too many of the latest hottest tracks in the mix, so I basically made a selection of moments that have had the biggest impact on me and attempted to weave them into a cohesive structure that might connect on the same level that I had experienced them. Every track has been edited by me so I wasn't held back by overlong arrangements built for the club, opting instead for the immediate impact that could still be attained as one body of work."

Disc 1 gets down to serious business with no delay, Sandberg's way with atmospherics and groove immediately brought to the fore in his remix of 'Hawkinson's Introduction'. This first set focuses squarely on the myriad flavours of techno and deeper house that permeate a typical Funk D'Void set, with melody served up in a subtle fashion amidst throbbing, inviting rhythms. It's techno for the heart, head and soul as well as the body - the way its pioneers intended it. Indeed, nods to Detroit come early on through Monty Luke and 'Underground Resistance' mainstays Los Hermanos, those gentle melodies soon building to the unbridled euphoria and old skool breaks of Chris Malinchak's 'Razor'. He plays with the listener's emotion across the mix, weaving between dark and joyful, taking things deep with plodding analog basslines and an exclusive cut from rising name Arkist.

John Tejada's re-rub of Soy Mustafa's 'Return Of The Annunaki' tingles the spine before we head deeper into hypnotic territories courtesy of Moodymanc and Exercise One & Mathew Jonson. Out of the murky depths of the mid-section rise the splashy disco hi-hats and filtered loops of Sam Matters' hazy 'Weight Off My Mind' and some ethereal beauty from Chymera. Pezzner's 'Only With Your Eyes' injects some organic instrumentation as a contrast to the electronic textures of the rest of the disc, and Sandberg's edit of Vince Watson's 'A Very Different World' brings those sumptuous melodies back to fore as we reach this first disc's climate. Tony Lionni's sublime 'Loving You' guides us to a heady crescendo with its bold lead lines and chords, before our host finishes off with an exclusive rolling funk-fuelled remix of his classic 'Diabla' by Ireland's ever-impressive Psycatron.

The second disc of this stunning selection pulls at that glistening, euphoric thread that teases throughout the first disc and lets it run rampant over a beautiful selection of slo-mo, sun-licked tracks that make for a masterful sunset or sunrise set. Kolombo's 'Waiting For' sets the charmed Balearic vocals to work, with Italo synth bass and sensual arpeggios resplendent in Lee Webster's 'Delve' thereafter. We journey through the funk of Lovebirds' 'Running Backwards' and the sweeping atmospherics of Vince Watson's epic 'Celtic Beauty' before the tempo suddenly lurches into the prettiest of all dubstep on our DJ's own exclusive edit of Joash's 'Assassin'. An exclusive Joris Voorn cut momentarily continues the pacier theme, before Sandberg slips into his Francois Dubois guise to take us into lush deep house territory.

Stunning synth work abounds in Rhythm Maker's 'Alles Mainstream', with some Patrice Scott ambience then leading into vintage Rob Acid grit, and next bouncing disco in Soundstream's 'Making Love'. We have a brilliantly eclectic mix here, all the tracks united by a gentle seductiveness that refrains from ever overpowering. There's room for some more low-slung bassline grooving as we reach the conclusion, Dennis DeSantis' wonderfully subtle 'You Say' providing a delectable parting shot which again underlines Funk D'Void's love of tangible emotion in house and techno music.

Funk D'Void has clearly stamped his identity on the Balance series here, deftly displaying the two distinct ends of his musical spectrum of which he effortlessly finds the happy medium. "Making such a contribution to such a revered physical CD series I felt that I had to offer something that would transcend the constraints of some of the fickle, fashionable sounds of today's electronic music scene and record something that would be hopefully still be as welcoming as seeing an old friend over the years upon repeated listens. If some of these sounds reach you in the way they have stayed with me, then my purpose in compiling them has been fulfilled."

Eric Serra is an award-winning French film music composer best known for his work with director Luc Besson on international blockbusters such as The Fifth Element (1997). Born on September 9, 1959, in Saint-Mandé, Île-de-France, he began his musical career during the mid- to late '70s as a guitarist and bassist in collaboration with a range of French pop/rock acts. During the early '80s he was the bassist of French singer/songwriter Jacques Higelin, one of the country's biggest pop/rock stars of the era. Around this same time, he began collaborating with film director Luc Besson, starting with the score of the short film L'Avant Dernier (1981). Serra subsequently composed the music for Besson's first feature-length effort, Le Dernier Combat (1983), as well as successive films either directed or written by the filmmaker: Subway (1985), Kamikaze (1986), Le Grand Bleu (1988), Nikita (1990), Atlantis (1991), Léon (1994), The Fifth Element (1997), The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc (1999), Wasabi (2001), and Arthur et les Minimoys (2006). In addition to his work with Besson, Serra composed music for other films, most notably GoldenEye (1995), which features one of the more inventive scores in the James Bond series. The recipient of numerous accolades, Serra won the most prestigious of French film awards, a César, in 1989 for his work on Le Grand Bleu. He was nominated for several other César awards over the years, including nominations for his scores for the Besson films Subway, Nikita, Léon, The Fifth Element, and The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc.

MAJICAL CLOUDZ / IMPERSONATOR

With rich vocals atop quiet looped waves of white noise, filtered synths and sparse thuds, Montreal songwriter Devon Welsh aka Majical Cloudz, is one of 2013’s most unique and essential new voices. His 2012 Turns Turns Turns EP, an audacious distillation of Welsh’s ideas that brought his vocals to the fore. “Musically, I wanted to try saying ‘no’ to possibilities, and create negative space in the songs,” he says. “To put the emphasis on the voice and lyrics.”

Impersonator brings Welsh’s songs into even sharper focus; its expressive power and swagger belie the extremely minimal music. These are intensely lyrical songs about death, patience, family, friendship, and desire. Welsh cites Elliott Smith and Arthur Russell as the two biggest influences on his songwriting.

While Impersonator sounds like neither, Smith’s lyricism is evident, as is Russell’s ability to distill a number of seemingly contradictory stylistic ideas into a single focused statement. Though they stand stylistically apart from other artists in their Montreal scene - which includes Grimes, Doldrums, Blue Hawaii, Mac DeMarco, and others - Majical Cloudz are proud beneficiaries of its camaraderie.

Devon Welsh on Impersonator: "In the last few years there’s been a massive explosion of amazing music made with computers, samplers and other electronic equipment. The possibilities became nearly endless and musicians indulged those possibilities. I love that kind of music but it also started to overwhelm me. I wasn’t cut out for the maximalist expressions of that style. So I took a break from music, and when I started again it was to make music that barely existed and felt like stillness more than movement. Where the songs could be more about humanness."

He adds, "I love all forms of electronic music, techno, house, rave, hip-hop, but I never want to feel like the music I’m making is just about stylistic play. The easiest way for me to do that is try to make something without obvious movement; where the music isn’t overstuffed sonically or referentially, it’s emptied out as much as possible. So the vision for Impersonator was to communicate a lot with as little as possible. It’s not meant to energize and turn you out to the world, it’s meant to do the opposite; it’s more like a cocoon."

MARK KNOPFLER & EMMYLOU HARRIS / FROM COAST TO COAST

Both British singer-songwriter/guitarist Mark Knopfler, and one of America's greatest vocal talents Emmylou Harris, are well known for their many collaborations with some of music's greatest artists, as well as for their own material.

Beside releasing 23 highly regarded and successful solo albums, Emmylou Harris vocal talents have been involved with some of country & folk music's biggest names such as Gram Parsons, Bob Dylan, Dolly Parton, Linda Ronstadt, to name but a few. While Mark Knopfler maybe best known as the founder and leader of the massively successful 80's laid-back blues rock band, Dire Straits. But like Harris, he has an impressive resume of collaborations over his illustrious career, George Jones, Van Morrison, and Eric Clapton, and so many more.

The path of these two incredible talents first crossed because of a common admiration for one of country music's guitar masters, Chet Atkins. The two first met while appearing on his television special in 1987. After staying in touch, and through dabbling together on mutual musical projects over the years, Harris & Knopfler consummated their musical relationship in 2006 with the critically acclaimed "All the Roadrunning" studio album.

This stellar album featured some of Nashville's most elite studio musician, who Harris & Knopfler took out on the road on a remarkable album support tour throughout Europe, and the USA. This DVD represents some of the most magical moments of these two remarkable talents collaborating on stage!

The National's dark, brooding tales of suburban strife and existential terror sounds like the audio equivalent of sitting down in a well-worn leather chair in a very dark room with a glass of scotch in your hand. Their sound is rich and menacing, backed by the mumbling growl of lead singer Matt Berringer.

The National broke out onto the scene with their 2007 classic Boxer, an album that received tons of praise upon release (and deserved every bit of it). Boxer spun tales of quiet menace and the hidden evil under the surface of everyone's lives. The band followed it up with the more psychological High Violet in 2010, an album that saw Beringer's fears turn more inward and existential, but equally as powerful.

The new album, Trouble Will Find Me, due out May 20th alongside a documentary about the band, Mistaken For Strangers, which debuts at the Tribeca Film Festival the previous month.

The album seems to find the band in a different place than their previous albums. The success from Boxer and High Violet has rocketed the band into the forefront of the indie rock scene, causing the press and fans to finally take notice of the band that has been putting out excellent material for more than ten years. In an interview about the new album, Berringer said “For the past ten years we’d been chasing something, wanting to prove something. And this chase was about trying to disprove our own insecurities. After touring High Violet, I think we felt like we’d finally gotten there. Now we could relax—not in terms of our own expectations but we didn’t have to prove our identity any longer.” To me, this means that Trouble Will Find Me will showcase a much more confident band, not just in their abilities, but also in Berringer’s outlook on the world. Whereas Boxer and High Violet dealt with deeply personal themes and fear, Trouble Will Find Me may hearken back to the band's earlier, more raw albums like Alligator.

Pawel Balszczak (born 1971) is a soundtrack composer for videogames and movies. His first compositions were created on commodore 64. Since 1997 he's been composing videogame soundtrack professionally. His work includes music for Dead Island, Call of Juarez Trilogy, Chrome and Crime Cities. Together with Adam Skoruoa, Pawel co-composed the widely acclaomed The Witcher OST with the IGN Award - Best Soundtrack 2007 - RPG Game Among others.

The Breeders and 4AD release a stunning 20th Anniversary issue of 'Last Splash'. LSXX is available as a limited-edition, seven-disc vinyl box set, and a three-CD package. Many of the recordings included in the set have never been released before, and for other tracks, it will be the first time they receive a worldwide release. Cover and individual sleeve artwork has been created by renowned British graphic designer Vaughan Oliver, who described it as "an irreverent conceptual and visual re-imagining" of his original Last Splash artwork. The vinyl box set includes: a 12-inch vinyl pressing of Last Splash, four 10-inch EPs - Safari, Cannonball, Divine Hammer, and Head to Toe, a 12-inch vinyl live concert album, Stockholm Syndrome, recorded in Sweden in 1994, during the band's last European tour. Seven tracks from this recording originally appeared on a fan-club-only CD; nine additional unreleased tracks from the concert are included here. a 12-inch vinyl record comprised of a BBC radio session recorded July 24, 1993 and available here for the first time, and the original Last Splash demo recordings, made in November, 1992. A 24-page booklet featuring previously unpublished photographs taken during the recording of Last Splash, personal photos taken during two years of touring, and reminiscences written by band members and others, including Kim Gordon and J Mascis.

The CD release is comprised of the same material in a three-disc set.

Within a short period of time the Nassau Beach Club could establish itself as one of the top locations on Ibiza island. The exclusive location right at the Playa d'en Bossa is a felicitous combination of beach, club and restaurant. Situated directly at the open sea, equipped with lovely decoration, delicious food, exotic cocktails and the finest music, the club became one of the hottest in-spots of the island within the twinkling of an eye.
